Abstract (EN)

In this study, effect of usage of E0, E50 and E85 fuels on exhaustemissions and engine performance of single cylinder spark ignitionengine with injection system at high compression ratio. Experimentalstudy was performed at full open throttle and engine speed, advancedtiming, excess air coefficient and compression ratio were chosen asvariable parameters. In the experiments, as the increased compressionratio from 10 to 11 improvements were observed on engine torque andpower. The maximum increment in engine torque and power wereobtained with E85 fuel. When the compression ratio was increased from11 to 12 a small decrement was observed on engine torque and power. At all the engine tests, the maximum specific fuel consumption wasobtained with E85, E50 and E0 followed the E0. The test carried outrelated to the engine speed, the HC emission increased with all testfuels. Depending on the ignition timing and compression ratio thesignificant variation was not observed on the NOx and CO emissions. However depending on the increment of compression ratio the HCemission also increased with all test fuels. However depending on theincrement of excess air fuel ratio the HC and CO emissions decreasedand NOx emission increased. In respect of engine performance the bestresults was obtained at 11 compression ratio with E85 fuel. E85 wasfollowed E50 and E0 respectively.
