Abstract (EN)

Children's rights are one of the most talked about rights topics in the 20th century. Parents play an important role in the developmental processes of children and in the protection and maintenance of children's rights. It is thought that parental attitudes towards children's rights affect many developmental areas of the child. It is thought that parental attitudes towards children's rights affect many areas of development of the child. In this research, a study was conducted on how parental attitudes towards children's rights affect children's social and emotional development. Preschool Social Emotional Skills and Psychological Resilience Scale (SDBPDS), Parental Attitude Scale Towards Children's Rights (ÇHETÖ) and Personal Information Form were used to collect data during the research process. Data in terms of eight variables consisting of year of birth, gender, parental age, parental birthplace, parental educational status, perceived income level of the family, parental marital status and parental occupational status; It was analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and the Shapiro-Wilk normality test. In the analysis of non-parametric results, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test were applied. Looking at the results of the research, it was seen that there was a negative relationship between parents' attitudes towards children's rights and children's social and emotional development, but this was not significant. The results obtained regarding the relationship between all sub-dimensions of both scales and total scale scores; It is thought that this study, which will help determine the relationship between parents' attitudes towards children's rights and children's social and emotional development in many dimensions, will make a significant contribution to the literature.
