The relationship between parents' level of connection with nature and their children's tendencies to connect with nature

The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between parents' levels of relationship with nature and their children's tendency to connect with nature. For this purpose, "What kind of relationship is there between parents' level of relationship with nature and their children's tendency to connect with nature?" The answer to the question has been sought. The study is a quantitative study in the relational screening model. The population of the study consists of children and their parents who are educated in kindergartens affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, independent kindergartens and practice kindergartens in the 2021- 2022 academic year in Trabzon. In this context, the sample group of the study consists of 225 parents and 225 children aged 60-72 months who attend preschool institutions included in the study. In the study, to collect the necessary data from parents and their 60-72 month old children, "Parent-Child Demographic Information Form", "Parent Nature Relationship Scale", "60-72 Month Old Children's Tendency to Establish Connection with Nature Scale" and "Parent Opinions Survey on Activities in Nature" were used. " used. Data analysis was carried out using IBM SPSS Statistics v.26. T-Test and ANOVA in the analysis of normally distributed data; Mann Whitney-U and Kruskall Wallis-H analyzes were used to analyze data that did not ivhow normal distribution. According to the results of the study, it was determined that there was only a negative and very weak significant relationship between the Relationship with Nature Scale and the child age variable (r=-0.179; p=0.037).
