An analysis of Abu Nasr al-Aqtaʿ's Sharḥ Mukhtasar al-Qudūrī – within the framework of Mu'āmalāt issues –

The al-Mukhtaṣar by Abū al-Ḥusayn al-Qudūrī, one of the foundational texts of the Ḥanafī school, has attracted the attention of Ḥanafī scholars since its composition and has been the subject of numerous commentaries and studies. Among these, the work titled Sharḥ Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrī by Abū Naṣr al-Aqṭaʿ occupies a significant place. The value of this commentary is further enhanced by the fact that Abū Naṣr al-Aqṭaʿ was a direct student of al-Qudūrī and that his work is considered the first known commentary on al-Mukhtaṣar. This thesis, which focuses on the aforementioned work of Abū Naṣr al-Aqṭaʿ, is composed of five chapters. The introduction discusses the significance and scope of the topic, the sources utilized, and a review of the existing literature. The second chapter provides the biographies of Abū Naṣr al-Aqṭaʿ and Abū al-Ḥusayn al-Qudūrī, and attempts to determine the place of al-Aqṭaʿ's commentary among other interpretations of Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrī. The third chapter analyzes the sources of the commentary and its internal classification. The fourth chapter offers an analysis of the content of the work. The findings obtained throughout the study are presented in the conclusion.
