Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of this in-vitro study was to evaluate the effect of effervescent tablets on the color stability of five different resin-based CAD/CAM restorative materials fabricated using various production techniques. Materials and Methods: Five CAD/CAM restorative materials were used in this study: polymer-infiltrated ceramic (Vita Enamic) [VE], nanoceramic resin (GC Cerasmart) [GC], cross-linked polymethyl methacrylate (Telio CAD) [TC], light- cured resin (C Temp) [CT], and microhybrid resin composite (Saremco Crowntec) [SR]. A total of 150 disc-shaped specimens (10 per group) were prepared. The samples were immersed in three different solutions: effervescent tablet solution, orange juice, and distilled water, for 2 minutes daily over a 28-day period. Color measurements were performed at baseline (T0) and after 28 days (T28) using a VITA Easyshade V digital spectrophotometer. Color differences (ΔE₀₀) were calculated using the CIEDE2000 formula. Data were statistically analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc tests. Results: The type of material, type of solution, and their interaction had a statistically significant effect on color change values (p<0.05). The highest color changes were observed in the effervescent tablet and orange juice groups. Particularly, Vita Enamic and Saremco Crowntec specimens showed ΔE₀₀ values exceeding the clinically unacceptable threshold (>2.25). In contrast, specimens stored in distilled water showed minimal color change within clinically acceptable limits. Conclusion: Effervescent tablets caused clinically perceptible discoloration in some resin-based restorative CAD/CAM materials. Material selection in aesthetic restorations should consider patients routine exposure to acidic or pigment-containing products. Keywords: Effervescent tablet, color stability,resin-based restorative material.
