Abstract (EN)
Democracy is a life and administration style which focuses on respect for human rights, individuals' freedom and participation the administration effectively. One of the most important functions of any educational system is to bring up demokratic individuals.Democracy survives and develops only in the societies formed of people who have grasped it as a behavior and who can apply its principles their lives. İn this sense holding democracy a live will be possible by bringing up indivudial s who accept democratic values in other wordsby the education of democracy.The main purpose' of this research is to determine the democratic attitudes of prospective teachers enrolled in Faculty of Education. "Democratic Attitude Scale" adapted into Turkish by Gozutok (1995) was used in the study. The results of the study reveal that there is a statistically significant difference among prospective teachers' democratic attitudes by departments, gender and educational levels of their parents.
