The evaluation of Egitim Hareketleri dergisi with respect to the educational issues (1955-1980)

The journals are the communication tools that transfer the present times, hence they have significant roles in revealing situations occurred in the past and in exposing today?s important issues. Eğitim Hareketleri Dergisi, which was published in 1955-1980, was also an essential journal since it transfers the present time and sheds light on the current educational problems. The purpose of this study is to shed light on today?s educational issues by displaying the issues mentioned in Eğitim Hareketleri Dergisi, which was active in 1955-1980.In the beginning of the research, it was aimed at reaching all volumes of the journal. These volumes were gathered from Gazi University Old Library, National Library, and Turkish Education Association. Since all of the volumes of the journal are reached, any sampling methods are not applied.In this research, categorical content analysis method was conducted. Firstly, the educational issues in the journal were presented and then those issues were evaluated with respect to their categories.Finally, the issues related with educational policy, special education, formal education (pre-school, primary, secondary, and higher education), teaching profession, educational measurement and evaluation, counseling, educational administration, informal education, education programs and youth problems were found out in this research.
