Meta-synthesis of artificial intelligence-supported studies in education

With the acceleration of technological developments, artificial intelligence applications are increasingly used in educational environments and offer various contributions to teaching-learning processes. Examining studies conducted on this topic has become crucial to uncovering educational contributions. In this context, the aim of this research is to systematically examine AI-supported studies in education and evaluate the findings using meta-synthesis. In this context, this study reviewed academic studies conducted in Turkey between 2010 and 2024, and analyzed qualitative studies that met the established criteria in detail. The research was conducted using document analysis, a qualitative research design, and the data were analyzed using content analysis. Findings show that AI-supported educational applications provide positive effects on student achievement, motivation, and individual learning experiences. Additionally, it has been determined that artificial intelligence technologies are used as a functional tool in teachers' decision-making processes and in developing teaching materials. As a result of the study, it is recommended that teacher training be strengthened and holistic approaches be developed at the policy level in order to use artificial intelligence-supported educational applications more effectively.
