Abstract (EN)

How has the annual and hourly proceeds of education changed between 1994-2007 with regards to wage-earning and casual employees? This study has been compiled using the Income and Living Conditions data set. Only the data related to individuals over 15 years of age, who are employed as wage-earning and casual employees have been used out of the data sets of both years. Semi logarithmic income models have been created using the Mincer approach in order to estimate the annual proceeds of education. Furthermore, annual incomes for each period (Literate, Primary, Primary-intermediate, High School, Vocational High School, Associate?s Degree-Undergraduate-Graduate) have been attempted to be estimated. Another method used in the studies to determine if the proceeds of education has changed within the income groups is the Quantile Regression method. The area of activity, gender, residential area, experience and the profession of the working individuals have also been examined while assessing the advantages of having received an education in income. It is observed from the quantile data that as the years of education and the level of the obtained diploma increases, the income inequality within the group decreases. Furthermore, the income increases considerably. However, this increase in income has not been able to approach the increase in the level of education during the years in question. Moreover, the advantages in income of each education level has decreased over the years. Although the changing structure of the workforce is comprised of more educated individuals; we cannot say that these individuals earn more income. For the lower income groups, receiving an education in order to move to a higher income group has lost its appeal.
