Abstract (EN)
Due to the developments in technology, the need for functional parts with complex geometries has increased. One of the most well-known additive manufacturing methods is the material extrusion (Fused Deposition Modeling-FDM) method. For this reason, the application of tests such as tensile, compression and bending, which are used to determine the mechanical properties of the parts produced by traditional production methods, has gained importance on the parts produced by additive manufacturing, and the studies in the literature on this subject have gradually increased. However, there are few studies examining the fracture behavior of parts produced by additive manufacturing. With this motivation, in this study, it has been experimentally investigated how the fracture properties of the parts produced by FDM method are affected in case of notch. Tensile test was applied to tensile specimens with geometries including different notch types (O, V and U type). In addition, in order to evaluate the effect of the printing angle, the samples were produced in shapes that will make different angles (0º, ±45º) with the drawing direction and have a concentric printing pattern. Thus, how both the notch type and the printing angle affect the breaking force, breaking elongation and breaking energy was investigated.
