Opinions of the students at Elaziğ science and art center towards science course and motivation levels

It can be seen that techonological improvments are everywhere in our life, the science and technology education importance is significant in the society. It is possible to see that science education has been getting important recently. The term of gifted person is a vast term which includes different ability and creativity. The gifted people are very important to improve not only themselves but also the society that have these people.It is possible that if the gifted people make a point of science education, then both people and society gain benefits. The aim of the study is that has been clarified 4. 5. 6. 7. and 8. Greats students? ideas and motivation?s levels , who are in Elazığ science and arts center. The research is made for students who are in 4. 5. 6. 7. and 8. greats in science and arts in Elazığ in 2012 -2013 academic year. The mixed method which has quantative and qualitative resarch design all together is used in the resarch. The quantative data of resarch motivation scale occur the viev technique of qualitative SPSS 16 statistics program is used in the analysis of quantative data, while N-VIVO-8 programs is used in the analysis of qualitative data.Te motivation scale of science education which is improved Dede and Yaman is used to specify the motivation of the students for the science and techonology class.The sacale is a kind of quinary Likert and is occured 23 questions.The realibity coefficient Cronbach Alpha of the scale of factors are counted as for Factor1 0.75; for Factor2 0.68 for Factor 3 0.56 for Factor4 0.55 and for Factor5 0.59 respectively. The quantative and qualitative data of the research support each other in the result of quantative data analysis ,there is no difference the motivation levels of between girls students and the boys students for science class in terms of statisticş however the average of the motivation of the girls students is higher than the average of the boys students. The other result is attained the quantative data analysis of the research is modified the average motivation levels according to class. Thus, the average of motivation level of 4. And 5. Classes studens is higher than 6,7, and 8 classes students?s motivations levels ,however there is no difference the motivation level of student in class parameter in terms of statistics. According to qualitative data analysis the comments state that the teachers should support by different equipment in science classes, because of the positive effect of activities, the activities should use more often in the science class, since the science class could be used in daily life, the science class teachers should use often current example and event Key Words: Gifted People, Science Art Center, Science Education Class, motivation, intellegence, ability
