Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was determined the heavy metals of the sediment and soil samples taken from the roadside between Elazığ and Bingöl are whether lithogenic and anthropogenic and is these elements are in relation to the host rocks. Within the scope of the investigation, optical microscope, X-Ray diffraction (XRD) of whole rock fraction, electron microscopy (SEM), geochemical analysis (ICP-MS) studies were carried out. The following results were obtained in this study. In the study area, units from old to young; Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous Guleman Ophiolites, Senonian Elazığ Magmatites, Maastrichtian-Lower Eocene Hazar Group, Middle Eocene Maden Complex, Plio-Quaternary Palu Formation, Quaternary alluviums. The main minerals in the samples are clays (smectite, chlorite and illite), feldspar, quartz, calcite and dolomite. Positive correlation between Al- Mg, Fe, Ti, V, Ga, Sc; between Mg - Ca – Sc; between Fe - V – Ga; between Ti - V – Sc; between V - Ga – Sc; between Ga - Sc, negative correlation between Na - Mg, Ca, Sc, between Mg - P - La, Ca - La, between Ti and Th-La-Ba, between Mg - Ca show basic source, The positive correlation of Ca-Sr -Ba indicates the carbonate source. La / Sc, Th / Sc, La / Co ratios are compatible with the host rocks. Based on average values, the order of finding the elements is Mn> Pb> Cr> Ni> Zn> Cu> Co> As> Fe> Mo. Cu, Th, Ba variation coefficient is less than 55, V, Ti, Sc are lower than 45, P, Al, Co, Mn, Fe are lower than 35. Mo, Ni, Zn, Cd is lower than 70. As, Cr, Pb is greater than 70. EF coefficients are also parallel to this. According to EF values, there is generally no contamination from heavy metals in terms of Cu and Co. There is low pollution in terms of Mo, Ni, Zn, Cd. Pb, Cr present significant impurity. The low kurtosis and skewness of Ni, Cu, Mn, Fe, Zn, Mo, Cd show that they are distributed closer to normal. There was little or no pollution. The fact that these coefficients are high in terms of Pb and Cr reflects the important impurity value in them. Co, Cu, Mn are of lithogenic origin. While Pb enrichment is possible due to traffic, Pb enrichment has been caused by Pb-Zn mineralization related to Elazig Magmatites such as Zn and Cd. As is used in fertilizers, it may be of agricultural origin.
