Abstract (EN)

In this study, Morphologic and chemical variations of the Teucrium polium L. samples naturally grown in Elazığ and near cities were investigated. The essential oils composition of the aerial parts of Teucrium polium samples collected from different localities that hydro-distilled to produce the oils were determined by using GC and GC-MS system. Plants are determined as Elazig-I sample 0,6% (v/w), Elazig-II sample 0,7% (v/w), Elazig-III sample 0,7% (v/w), Malatya sample 0,3% (v/w), Bingöl sample 0,6% (v/w), Tunceli-I sample 0,8% (v/w), Tunceli-II sample 0,6% (v/w), Tunceli-III sample 0,8% (v/w) and Sanliurfa sample 0,4% (v/w) oil yields respectively, Its in return; sixty two, fourty, fourty, fifty nine, fifty seven, fifty one, fourty five, fourty one and twenty nine components were identified representing 96,96%, 91,02%, 90,81%, 94,49%, 91,91%, 97,91%, 93,12%, 93,97% and 89,88% of the oils, respectively. The major constituents of Teucrium polium were in Elazig-I sample, ? -pinene (8,71%), ? -pinene (8,66%), trans-caryophyllene (11,88%), trans- ? -farnesene (5,51%), germacrene D (11,01%), bicyclogermacrene (6,63%) and epi-bicyclosesquiphellandrene (%9,63); in Elazig-II sample, trans-caryophyllene (12,10%), germacrene D (11,65%), bicyclogermacrene (5,56%) and epi-bicyclosesquiphellandrene (8,40%); in Elazig-III sample, ? -pinene (6,74%), trans-caryophyllene (21,84%), germacrene D (13,49%), bicyclogermacrene (6,88%) and caryophyllene oxide (4,83%); in Malatya sample, trans-caryophyllene (11,20%), germacrene D (11,10%) and elemol asetate (10,32%); in Bingöl sample, ? -pinene (8,48%), ? -pinene (8,42%), trans-caryophyllene (11,64%), trans- ? -farnesene (5,52%), germacrene D (11,83%) and bicyclogermacrene (6,66%); in Tunceli-I sample, trans-caryophyllene (19,40%), germacrene D (20,54%), bicyclogermacrene (14,31%), spathulenol (5,16%) and ? -cadinol (9,84%); in Tunceli-II sample, trans-caryophyllene (12,88%), germacrene D (10,20%), bicyclogermacrene (4,03%), epi-bicyclosesquiphellandrene (5,89%), elemol asetate (7,22%) and pentacosane (5,93%); in Tunceli-III sample, ? -pinene (9,07%), ? -pinene (6,93%), limonene oxide (9,19%), cis- ? -bisabolene (7,80%), ?? -bisabolene (10,99%) and ? -bisabolol (8,82%), in also Sanlıurfa sample, ? -pinene (9,43%), ? -pinene (7,63%), dihydrosesquicineole (9,87%), cis- ? -bisabolene (9,01%), ? -bisabolene (12,66%) and ? -bisabolol (8,01%). Morphological and morphometrical features of this species collected from different localities were observed and measured according to the Flora of Turkey discription and new characters were added to this discription. Intraspesific variation was determined in by using these morphometric characters. In general, it is said that, the morphological features were found similar with the Flora of Turkey. But, the internode and bracte length characters were different from Flora of Turkey description. Some infra-populational and specific variation were determined. Stem length, peduncle and bracte length have showed variation among the locality samples. of Teucrium poliumKey words: Teucrium, Lamiaceae, Morphological and Chemical Variation, GC-MS, trans-caryophyllene, germacrene D
