Abstract (EN)
In this study, oxidizability of iron, which is in EAF slag of Samsun Yeşilyurt Iron-Steel Factory, had been investigated. Fort his reason, firstly slag's characterisation had been analysed. In EAF slag, %18,1 wt percent total iron and %12,9 wt percent ferrous iron (Fe+2) had been achieved by using "TS-1455 (ISO 2597) Iron ores- Determination of total iron content" standard method. AAS analysis result had been showed that slag has %3,2 wt percent metalli ciron (Fe0) and %2 wt percent ferric iron (Fe+3). After BET analysis, the results showed that EAF slag surface area value is 15,735 m2/g with BET surface area correlation constant R = 0,992. XRD results showed that EAF slag structure has big amount of hematite, small amount of magnetite. After pretesting, EAF slag structure has resistance against reactions. Because of this reason firstly, slag had been reduced, after oxidized like oxygen carrier at Chemical Looping Combustion Process. After experiments, it has been shown that slag completely oxidized.
