Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of nozzle position on convective heat transfer and flow characteristics are investigated experimentally and numerically in the cooling of electronic modules with a series of impinging jets. The aim of the study is to determine the nozzle configuration that gives the best cooling efficiency. The study is conducted on three channel heights (H/Djet=3, 4, 5) and five jet Reynolds numbers (Rej=6757, 8586, 10303, 12306, 14023) for different nozzle positions (sjet/b=0, 0.166, 0.25, 0.375, 0.5). Module surface temperatures are measured in the experimental studies. Numerical studies are carried out with ANSYS Fluent 2021 R2 software, and the low Reynolds SST k-ω turbulence model is used. As a result of the studies, it is determined that the cooling efficiency increases as the jet Reynolds number increases, the change in nozzle positions significantly affects the complex flow structure around the modules, and causes significant changes in the local and average heat transfer characteristics.
