Abstract (EN)
The theoretical and technical developments of traditional electrostatic precipitator are overviewed in this research stressing its modern design and physical structure, and performance in practice. Application of corona discharge technique on electrostatic precipitator is summarized to explain new developments on corona discharge parameters and modeling procedures in engineering. It is known that the particle charge and particle velocity has strong effects on performance of the precipitator in electrostatic precipitator technique. Using the previous research studies, three different electrodes with different geometric shapes has been used for controlling the charge and velocity of the particles. Dust precipitating capacities has been measured by applying negative dc voltage to each of the electrodes. Engineering characteristics, precipitation mechanisms, application performances and costs of electrostatic precipitators with different geometries are realized and compared to each other. Key Words : Electrostatic Filters, Corona Discharge
