Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is analyzing anthropometric characteristics, vertical jump, and spine flexibility of elite female basketball players at different positions.This study was performed on 41 elit women basketball players from 4 different teams. They were divided into three groups according to their playing positions: guards (n=13), fovards (n=14) ve centers (n=14).Measures of anthropometric characteristics, vertical jump height, spine flexibility and body fats compared with playing positions. Centres were taller and heavier than forvards and guards.Athlets maesures of body fat, skinfold , width, circuit, upper and lower ekstremites were significantly different between athlethes at different playing positions (p<0.05). Triceps skinfold measures, vertical jump height and spine flexibility measures compared with playing positions and they did not have significant differents (p<0.05). We determined somatotypes of centers were mesomorphy, forvards and guards were ectomorphy.Consequently, in our opinion, using motoric and morphologic properties for choosing talented players in outstanding women basketball teams will affect performances positively.Key Words: Basketball, Anthropometry, Vertical Jump, Spine Flexibility, Playing Position.
