Investigation of elite boxers communication skills

Human who cannot survive alone is a social being. In order to survive they need to communicate with other people. Sports areas where for athletes are in communication continuously is places. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the communication skills of athletes of Turkey Boxing National Team according to between gender groups and age groups, education situations and site situations. 28 female and 52 male totally 80 athletes who have been Turkey Boxing National Team camps participated to study. "Communication Skills Assessment Scale (CSAA)" which is developed by Korkut (1996) has been used in the study. Scale is a data collection tool consisting of two sections. The first part formed the socio-demographic characteristics of athletes and the second part has occurred from questions. The data obtained from the study were assessed by using SPSS 21 software. Likert-type scale and descriptive statistics were used and frequency tables were created. On the other hand, independent two samples T test was used to investigate the differences between two different groups and one-way analysis of variance was used to investigate the differences between groups more than two. At the result of the study; there are no statistically significant differences despite the high points of the communication skills of boxers between gender groups and age groups, education situations and site situations (p>0.05).
