Abstract (EN)
26 subjects aged between 20-25 years old (12 volleyball, 14 handball players) performed 6 different equilibrium measurement, including transfer of weight from left to right (left foot start), transfer of weight from right to left (right foot start); their height, weight, skin fold measurements from seven points, full arm length, full leg length and overarm lengths were taken, in total 19 measurements were taken. The collected data is used to calculate mean, maximum, minimum values and standard deviation and evaluated to find any possible relation between handball and volleyball players. The body fat percentages were calculated according to the ?Zorba Formula? (BF% = 0.99 + 0.0047 (body mass) + 0.132 (body fat thickness from 7 sites); the body fat measurements were taken with a Holtain brand skin fold calipper, length measurements with Holtain tape measure and equilibrium measurements with Lafayatte 16020 IRF/E stabilometer. Our results show that:When differences between the measurements are thought either positive or negative there is a difference between the groups. The group means for height, leg length, biceps, chest, scapula and thigh measurements in volleyball players were lower than handball players but volleyball players have higher mean values for height and leg length. When the differences of the means are thought either positive or negative there is a difference between the groups; it can be said that right start Keeping in Equilibrium is higher in volleyball players, also the body fat percentage is lower in volleyball than handball players.Volleyball players have better result on equilibrium plate for both starting sides so it can be said that volleyball players are in a better position for staying in equilibrium than handball players. In addition, there is a significant correlation between right start Loosing Equilibrium ,Keeping in Equilibrium and height (0.0328*), overarm length (0.0057), arm length (0.0032) and leg length (0.0168*) in handball players (p<0.05). Thus there is an inverse relation between height, extremity lengths and staying in equilibrium.
