Abstract (EN)
Creep can be defined as the plastic deformation of materials under constant temperature and constant load, and studies on this deformation have accelerated in recent years. However, it has become an inevitable necessity to determine the creep properties of aluminum, which is the second most widely used metal in the world after iron, which can be easily forged, machined and cast, depending on temperature. In particular, the creep properties of aluminum and aluminum alloys in the literature have been studied in detail considering the ambient conditions and experimental conditions. However, the creep properties of the Al-2024 series have not been studied in detail due to the fact that they are not frequently exposed to high temperatures under working conditions. However, since the Al-2024 series, which plays a very common role in the aerospace industry, can be subject to creep and deformation and cause both material and vital consequences, this issue needs to be emphasized. Various studies have been carried out on the aluminum series in question, but there has not been enough study in our country on its behavior at high temperatures. The review of studies in the foreign literature on the creep behavior of EN-AW 2024 T3511 aluminum is particularly important to contribute to the domestic literature. In this context, a broad perspective of research on the creep properties of the material will provide a more comprehensive perspective for domestic researchers. This review is intended to help fill the knowledge gaps in the domestic literature and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the creep properties of Al-2024. By experimentally studying the deformation of this material, which is widely used in the aerospace industry, under constant stress at high temperatures, and by supporting the results with images taken by optical microscope and electron microscope, an attempt was made to evaluate and predict the time-dependent damage of this material, which is used in critical working areas. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the strength of EN-AW 2024 T3511 aluminum material decreased drastically according to the applied temperature, and the creep curves, which are critical in creep tests, formed a very short first zone with increasing temperature or started not to form completely starting directly from the second zone. As a result of these observations and data, the steady-state creep rate was calculated from the creep curves and the creep rupture time was determined. The results of the experimental study are presented as graphs and numerical values.
