Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to cultivate and determine the agronomic characteristics of Sideritis tmolea P.H. Davis (Lamiaceae) which is an endangered species in İzmir, Ödemiş-Bozdağ as single point endemic species due to excessive grazing pressure, afforestation studies and uncontrolled collection by human. According to results of the obtained data, the best germination value of the plant was determined as 90% at 24 K- 25C°, and the rooting success of the slips was increased by applying 1000 ppm IBA. The results obtained from data of agronomic measurements on plants transferred to field indicate that the plants obtained from the slips are more efficient than those obtained from the seeds but that the survival rate of the plants obtained from the seeds is higher. In the light of this information, it has been concluded that the plant is suitable for cultivation and can be used as a new alternative for reclamation of rugged and nonarable lands. Essential oils found in plants were determined and the ratios of these substances having economic value were determined and compared. Also, given the increasing importance of medical and aromatic plants in the world, the plant has the potential to have a large share of the economic species exported. It is predicted that human factors on the natural populations will be removed and the natural gene pool of the plant will be preserved by cultivation of the plant.
