Mediating role of technological readiness on the effect of Industry 4.0 maturity level on organizational learning

The Industry 4.0 process, requires the use of information technologies at a high level and widely. The effect of this on the organization is to acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviors required by new technologies. However, it is thought that the organizational learning process will be difficult in the absence of technological readiness.The aim of this study is to determine the mediating role of technological readiness, on the effect of Industry 4.0 maturity level on organizational learning. In this context, a quantitative study was conducted with the participation of senior managers, operational managers, engineers and technical experts from large-scale manufacturing companies that are on the ISO 500/1000 list and implement Industry 4.0 studies. With the survey method, 401 valid data were obtained from a total of 107 companies. The hypotheses of the research were tested by using SPSS 22 and AMOS 22 programs and constructing structural equation models. As a result of the research, it has been seen that the effects of Industry 4.0 maturity level on organizational learning and technological readiness and the effects of technological readiness on organizational learning are significant and positive. In addition, it has been determined that technological readiness has a full mediating role on the effect of Industry 4.0 maturity level on organizational learning. Accordingly, when the technological readiness variable is included in the model as a mediator variable, the effect of the Industry 4.0 maturity level on organizational learning occurs entirely through the mediator variable.
