Abstract (EN)

Industry 4.0, which is expressed as the integration of information and communication technologies with production systems, brings many innovations in social and cultural fields. Museums, which have the task of preserving, exhibiting and educating the collective memory of the society with the artistic, cultural and historical elements they contain, are the gathering of knowledge. Technological developments such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and virtual reality, which are Industry 4.0 products, have also caused significant changes in the methods of transferring information in museums. It is becoming more and more common to use these technologies in exhibition methods in order to appeal to different senses and enable the user to get a full experience. In this study, the utilization methods of Industry 4.0 technologies in museums are investigated. For this purpose, primarily the concepts of virtual and augmented reality and artificial intelligence, which have intensive usage in museums among these technologies, are examined along with their historical development processes. Subsequently, through the examples of museum applications leading the use of Industry 4.0 technologies in our country and abroad, the utilization of these technological components in museums is addressed. Keywords: Augmented Reality, Industry 4.0 Technologies, Museum, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence.
