The industrial archaeology and in this extention, refunctioning of the industrial buildings in Tire

Industrial Archaeology is a concept that was appeared in 20th century. In the second half of the 20th century, due to change of social expectation and general prosperity level, technological progress; mechanization, heavy industry and ecological damage transported to the Third World. As a result of this, the industrial buildings, which had been unfunctioned in the city centre and all the apparatuses has accepted as an industrial heritage and the idea of acquired these buildings and areas to the city has appeared. Nowadays, the refunctioned industrial buildings demonstrate that, this industrial archaeology is a concept that is improving. With it?s geographical location, culture, richness of industrial heritage which was obtained due to industry, commerce and political role and position in the historical process; Tire is a settlement that should be utilized in the extension of industrial archaeology. In this work, the concept of industrial archaeology is tried to explain. In this extension, Tire and the industrial buildings in Tire, which stayed next to the settlement and are closed or still trying to work as a handicraft by traditional methods, are investigated. In the study, example of refunctioning, from all over the world and Turkey, in the extension of industrial archaeology, has been taking a part. Making use of all these knowledge, it is determinated that the industrial buildings and heritages are going to be unfunctioned as a result of city life, health standards and planning principle, and it is an inevitable and. In the study, it is tried to expound that, these buildings and all their apparatuses should be protecting consciously. It is tried to explain that refunctioning these buildings, direction of the necessity of city and planning principle, effects the continuousness of the city existing and standards of the city life.
