Abstract (EN)
With the effect of industrialization and urbanization all over the World, the majority of energy used is derived from non-renewable fossil sources and increased energy need year by year, making it increasingly difficult to provide the energy needed for population. Buildings are also responsible for the high amount of carbon dioxide emissions as they constitute a large percentage of fossil fuel consumption, and it is especially important that the efficient use of energy in the building sector is important. Examining school buildings in terms of comfort and energy efficiency gains importance. Energy is one of the most important factors in economic development as well as in life comfort and education. In this thesis study, it was aimed to improve the energy efficiency of 2004-53 type primary school project which is a public example designed by the Ministry of National Education. By changing the values of some building design variables and suggesting alternatives, the change in heating energy expenditure according to the current project was examined and the effect of the building temperature on the selected class in use as a passive system was investigated. The study consists of 4 main parts. In the first part of the introduction, energy problems and their reasons are discussed. In the second part, energy efficiency concept and its importance are explained. In explaining the concept of energy efficiency and energy efficiency requirements for buildings in Turkey touched on the concept of energy efficiency, and importance of energy efficiency in primary school. In the third chapter, active and passive system concepts which are effective in energy efficient building design are explained and passive design variables are explained in detail. Passive design variables have been examined under three headings as variables related to climatization, user and building design parameters. In the fourth section, the study on the evaluation of the building as an active and passive system in terms of the energy efficiency of the selected type school project is explained. In this section, the existing project is introduced and analysis about the existing project is entered into the simulation program. Later, different alternatives for the building envelope were created and analyzed for each, and the calculation results are discussed. Then the results obtained in the fifth chapter on the building envelope are explained and evaluated in order to improve the energy efficiency of the existing building. The importance of improving the performance of buildings as a passive system by minimizing the duty share of active systems in primary education buildings has been discussed in terms of ensuring energy efficiency in primary education buildings.
