Abstract (EN)

The concept of disability is very important in terms of exploring concepts related to the scope of disability and the approaches that are developed over a certain period of time. In order to be used in statistical surveys to obtain information about disabled individuals (such as barriers, daily living conditions, social activities of the disabled, educational conditions, etc.), it is necessary to define the relevant concepts to determine the purposeful question and method. The most common types of disabilities in the world are Orthopedic Disabilities, Visual Impairments, Hearing Impairments, Language and Speech Disabilities, Chronic Illnesses and Mental Disabilities. Down syndrome; the most common chromosomal anomaly in humans. Of the 46 chromosomes found in a normal human being, 23 are from the mother of the individual and the other 23 are from the father. With cell division these pairs are symmetrically divided into two and have the same characteristics and number in new chromosomes. However, individuals with Down's syndrome have 47 chromosomes, ie individuals with Down's syndrome have two from chromosome 21 and by causing an extra protein synthesis, it affects the normal developmental process of the baby. What is certain about Down's syndrome is; the source of Down syndrome is not the parent, anything that happened before or during pregnancy does not cause the child to be born with Down's syndrome. ASD is a clinical diagnosis group among childhood neurodevelopmental disorders. Symptoms start in early childhood and are a continuing disorder with social-communicative field deficiencies and restrictive, repetitive behaviors and areas of interest. Diagnostic categories of Autism Disorder (OB), Asperger Syndrome (AS), and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder (CDD), which are included in the DSM-IVTR within concept of PDD, are combined with the diagnosis category of Pervasive Developmental Disorder-otherwise unknown diagnosis (PDD-OUD), it is included in the concept of "Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)" DSM-5. In DSM-IV TR, Rett Syndrome, which is included in the concept of PDD, was not included in the diagnosis of ASD because of its genetic background. Key words: Disabled, Down Syndrome, ASD
