Abstract (EN)
In this research, it has been carried out a poll among 182 epilepsy patients older than aged 18 who applied to epilepsy polyclinic of neurology clinic of Haseki Training and Research Hospital and have no any underlying diseases that will be able to cause epilepsy. The objective of research is to specify effects of seizures fear on social lives of epilepsy patients and to provide awareness in order to optimize their adversely affected social life standart. It has been asked questions to them regarding their fears and social lives in this research. In an attempt to attain statistical work results of taken responses, SPSS method has been used. Thus, it has been determined that patients social lives have been influenced negatively because of seizures fear and also them to give up their plans about life, activities whose they would like to do, as a result of effect of social stigma. It has been detected that epilepsy disease has been unfavorably affecting individuals education and training life, mate selection, business life and social live. Works that both have been carried out and will carry out on behalf of creating social awareness in this regard and providing individuals to gain their social life are crucial.
