Abstract (EN)

Effect of Sport Participation on Aggressive Behaviors in AdolescentsThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of sport participation on the aggressive behavior of the high school students. The aggressive behavior of the students are compared with whether being competitive or not, education and economical levels of their parents.Data collection instrument used in this study is ?Aggression scale? developed by Kocaturk. Data collected from 407 highscool students (212 female 195 male) age between 16,02±1 who are attended this study as a volunteer. Data were analyzed with two way ANOVA model in SPSS 11,5 statistical program. Results were accepted significant in p<0,005 level.As a result there was no significant difference between sport participation and aggressiveness points in adolescent according to being competitive or not. Also there was no significant difference on students aggressiveness points according to parents educational level and job type. On the other hand there was a significant difference on students aggressiveness points according to sexuality and parents economical levels. Boys have statiscally higher aggressiveness point than the girls (p<0.023), and students whose parents economical level is ?600 TL ?? have statistically lover aggressiveness point (p<0.000).Key words: Aggression, adolescent, sport participation
