Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the emotion regulation and communication skills of adolescents in terms of different variables and to determine the relationship between emotion regulation and communication skills. 500 teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 who attend public and private high schools in the heart of Ankara that are associated with the Ministry of National Education make up the study's sample. Research data were collected with the "Personal Information Form", "Emotion Regulation Scale" and "Communication Skills Scale". A t-Test, an ANOVA and Pearson Korelasyon test were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, there was a significant difference between the emotion regulation skills of adolescents and gender, number of siblings, marital status of parents, self-perception status, hobby status, and communication status, as well as between communication skills and gender, age, grade level, high school type, self-perception, hobby, and ability to communicate. In addition, it was determined that as the emotion regulation skills of adolescents increased, their communication skills also increased.
