Abstract (EN)

Machines developed in the course of technological advancement and the noise theycause, which is industrial noise that is also the by product of industrial development, havebecome an important problem during the course of industrial development. In our country,which is flourishing in industrial development, there have occurred many social problems at thetop of which is noise pollution that threatens worker health and occupational safety. Thisphenomenon leads to problems in workers ranging from emotional irritation to making the jobharder and harder, and even to permanent health problems.Within this study, basic terms about noise and the criteria to determine noise werepresented so as to clarify the fundamental of noise; its affects on workers and productivity wereshown in order to reveal what a big burden it is in work place. Moreover, making use ofavailable standards, we did noise measurements in three textile factories in Kütahya OrganisedIndustrial Zone in different working times and zones. On the strength of the results of thesemeasurements, we made noise maps.According to the research results; it has been determined that noise exposures on theworkers in these textile factories are 96.4 dBA on average, and that working for eight hours inthese environments without protection means is detrimental to workers? health.Keywords: Ergonomics, noise map, noise measurement, Kütahya, textile factories.
