The role of the woman in the war in early Islamic history

In our study, which focuses on the existence of women in the wars in the period of Jahiliyyah and the time of the Prophet, first of all, the social, economic, political, ethnic and cultural status of women in this period is revealed, and the concept of war in Islam and the nature of the wars of Jahiliyyah are mentioned. Although it is widely accepted that men are the main parties of wars because of the fact that women are weaker physically than men, it is understood in our study that the usefulness of women in wars in the aforementioned periods cannot be underestimated. The inductive method is followed in this study, which systematically and chronologically focuses on historical concepts, events, persons and periods. In the determination of the news, the basic sources that they first mentioned were used to a maximum extent, while the works of later authors and fellow researchers are also benefited. Women, who performed some background services such as medical aid to the warriors, carrying water, cooking, etc. were also involved in the battles in case of necessity. In our study, the number of women who contributed to the wars on the side of Muslims was found to be sixty-four, and twenty-nine by the polytheists.
