Leadership factor in armenian foreign policy: serzh sargsyan foreign policy analysis within the frame of LTA model

In this study, the leadership factor in the foreign policy of Armenia is investigated based on the Leadership Character Analysis (LTA) method, which is one of the most important models developed by Margaret Hermann in the field of Leadership Analysis. In the study, firstly, the basic parameters of Armenian foreign policy and the factors affecting foreign policy are examined. At the end of the first chapter, the foreign policies of two Armenian presidents - Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Koçaryan are examined to emphasize the role of leaders in Armenia. In the second part, by explaining the concept of Political Leadership and the basic parameters of LTA model, the basis for the analysis in the next section is prepared based on personal leadership features that may be effective in Sarkisyan's foreign policy. In the last chapter, the two most important events happened in the tenure of Sargsyan - Sargsyan 'football diplomacy in the process of rapprochement with Turkey and 'Deep and Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement' signed with the EU - are analyzed. LTA Model is a method that enables leaders to analyze characters remotely based on the texts of spontaneous speeches. This method provides the opportunity to predetermine beliefs, perceptions and attitudes based on the seven-character characteristics that are predicted to be effective in the foreign policies implemented by the leaders. Based on the feature indicators of the leader of the seven character traits mentioned, it is stated what type of leadership activity he has performed. The attitudes of leaders towards other actors and their reactions to the events related to events are also explained on the basis of these seven character traits.
