Prof Dr. Turker ALT AN Prof Dr. Erdoğan Gültekin Prof. Dr. Kamuran Güçlü The aim of this study was to determine environmental impacts of the coastae land use in Erzin Sartmazi-Burnaz beaches and its environs and to suggest an alternative land use management pattern, in addition to morphological and biological characteristics of the area, current land use and possible land use demands were identified. The impact of land use on the naturel and socio-economic environment was analysed and the sensitivity of the biotopes was assessed to create appropriate land use model in the area in order to determine the land use habits awearness of environmental issues of local people, a questionary was performed with the in habitants of Sanmazi-Bumaz beachses and Gaziantep's holiday housings and summer visitors of these area. It can be concluded that the coastal land use in the area is very intensive and improper. Initially, local community should be encouraged to change their present land use habits by offering aternative land use activities. In addition, the beach should be reorganised as a daily recreation area in the light of planning principles, and camping facility replaced in order to reduce anthopogenic infiurences upon dune ecosystem.
