Abstract (EN)

Silver nanoparticles were tested against C. difficile in the present investigation. At Azadi Hospital in Kirkuk City, a total of (128) patients were included in the research from September 2021 to April 2022, under physician supervision, and each patient was interviewed. There were 82 (64.06 percent) male and 46 (35.94 percent) female diarrhoea stool specimens out of 128 total specimens. Bacterial growth was detected in 47% of stool samples. There were 82 male samples and 46 female samples out of the total of 128 diarrhea stool samples, according to the study data. In addition, 61 stool samples (47.7 percent) tested positive for bacterial growth, according to the findings. The susceptibility test for C. difficile indicated a distinct antibiotic resistance, with Aztreonam having a 40% resistance rate and Tobramycin having a 33.33% resistance rate. Antibiotic resistance was found to be 26.26 percent for Trimethoprim and 46.66 percent for Ampicillin alone. Finally, when Deoxycline was used, the high level of antibiotic resistance was shown (86.66 percent). On the other hand, when ampicillin conjugated silver nanoparticles were used, the inhibitory zone's width shrank. As a result of this research, it can be said that ampicillin conjugated silver possesses antibacterial properties against C. difficile. 2022, 47 pages Keywords: Silver nanoparticles, C. difficile, Aztreonam, Antibiotic resistance
