Abstract (EN)

In this study beneficiation of tailings of Hisarcık dam in tile and brick industry subgroup of ceramic sector was investigated. Since, evaluation of those tailings gets benefit economically due to usage of related sectors as secondary source and to reduce environmental pollution. In this research, it is determined that the sample having 11,30% B2O3 grade taken from Hisarcık tailing dam has mostly colemanite, calcite and illite in the structure. In the docimasy on the other hand, in order to use tile and brick applications, microwave energy and decrepitation methods were used to get lower B2O3 grade clay minerals and optimum method and parameters were determined. According to the results of both two pro-enrichment processes performed to all particle sizes, +0,5 mm sized tailing sample, at the 500 0C and a 40 minutes decrepitation time; 7,08% B2O3 graded tailing with 39,63% recovery and 23,87% B2O3 graded concentrate were obtained. In tile and brick applications, while by adding 20% of 7,08% B2O3 graded sample at 820 0C in the tile prescriptions, the best quality tile specimen was obtained, and by adding 10% of 7,08% B2O3 graded sample at 530 0C in the brick prescriptions, the best quality brick specimen was obtained.
