Abstract (EN)

The term ethnicity, an important concept in terms of social sciences, dates back to ancient Greece. The term 'ethnicity' is defined as 'the ones not from us, the other'. As an ethnic group in the study, Chechens and Circassians examined the factors influencing political participation in order to understand and interpret how ethnicity influenced and guided political participation. The concept and theories of ethnicity in the conceptual and theoretical framework are mentioned and theories of migration and migration are defined in order to evaluate the Chechens and Circassians objectively in terms of socio-cultural and socio-political aspects. The concept and theories of political participation are given and general information about the ethnic groups Chechens and Circassians forced migration to Turkey has been described. A survey was carried out in Circassians' village "Korkmaz" and Chechens' village "Çardak" of Kahramanmaras province Göksun district . Two different ethnic groups were analyzed in terms of factors affecting political participation.
