Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of a capac itor w hich is connected t o a r efr iger atorcom pressor elec tr ical cir cuit w it h a sw itch on the per for manc e par ameter s wer eexam ined and c om par ed w ith cases w ith and w it hout t he capacit or . Theexper im ental investigation was car r ied out when the cooling system r eached tosteady state. Var ious number of incandescent light bulbs w ith diff er ent pow erratings installed in an evapor ator , wer e used as therm al load, and thus load valuesrem ained to be constant dur ing operation. A lso sens or s at m ajor locat ions wer epositioned to m easur e t he temper at ur es and pr essures. The steady state w asreached by oper ating the r efr iger ator af ter a cert ain per iod of tim e under diff er entther m al load values. W hen the s ystem r eached to the steady state oper ation,pr essur e and temper at ur e values w er e m easur ed and r ecor ded manually.Tem per ature and pr essur e m easur ements wer e car r ied out w hile thecapacit or w as off, and the data w er e s aved. These oper ations w er e continued byinstalling different num ber of light bulbs to obtain differ ent load values into theevapor ator until the system reached to the steady stat e. Enthalpy values at inletsand outlet s of the compr essor , the condenser , and the evapor ator w er e deter minedby enter ing the data obt ained int o an engineer ing s oft war e called as ? Engineer ingEquation Solver ? ( EES) . These ent halpies w er e used to deter mine the heat rem ovedfr om the r efr iger ated space, the heat r ejected to the sur r ounding envir onment , thew or k input to the com pr essor , and as w ell as the coefficient of per form ance of therefr iger ator . Then the capacitor was tak en int o the c om pr essor elec tr ical cir cuit, and the same type of measur ements at w hich t he capacitor w as off, w er e m adeagain, and r esults at both cases, with and w ithout t he capacitor , w er e com par ed.Some major par ameter s w er e the com pressor w ork input, the heat r emoved fr omthe r efr iger at ed space, the heat r ejected to the sur r ounding envir onm ent, andespecially t he coefficient of per for mance of the r efr iger ator .W hen compar ing the amounts of the heat r em oved fr om the r efr igeratedspace, it w as shown that the am ount w as incr eased by 0,4% w hile t he capacitorw as on.It was deter mined that t he com pr essor w or k , one of the other im por tantsystem par am eters, w as incr eased by 15% w hile the capacitor w as on.The coefficient of per for mance w hich is t he m ost im por tant perfor mancepar ameter of the system in the case of the capacitor w as decr eased by 12% w ithrespect t o the case w ithout capacitor , and therefor e the active pow er consumptionof the r efr iger ator incr eased.Key Word s : Coefficient of per for mance, capacit or , cooling, c om pr essor ,per for manceX
