Abstract (EN)
Educa Education is the most important foundation that enables individuals to participate effectively in society through knowledge, skills, and values. Education is a fundamental requirement for social equality and justice. However, failure to organize educational environments to meet the needs of each individual leads to disadvantaged students, especially those with disabilities, experiencing learning disadvantages. At this point, Universal Design Principles in Instruction (UDE) stand out as an approach developed to ensure the active participation of all students in the learning process. Therefore, this study aimed to examine Turkish textbooks focusing on Universal Design Principles in Instruction and to determine the implementation of these principles by Turkish teachers. The research was designed with a case study design, which is among the qualitative research methods. The documents for this research consisted of Turkish textbooks taught at the secondary school level. The study group consisted of 19 Turkish teachers working in different districts of Adana province (Çukurova, Sarıçam, Seyhan, Yüreğir) during the 2024-2025 academic year. Therefore, this study used this data to demonstrate in detail the relationship between Turkish textbooks and teacher practices. It was determined that the activities in the textbook did not fully meet the requirements for listening/viewing, reading, and writing skills, but they met the majority of the requirements for speaking skills. It was determined that Turkish teachers did not consider the Turkish textbooks appropriate for the requirements for the requirements for the requirements, but they viewed the activities they implemented during the course as appropriate for the requirements. The findings were discussed, and recommendations were developed for practitioners and researchers.
