Abstract (EN)
One of the most important products in wood based composite materials is the fiberboard. The fiberboard has some disadvantages such as easy flammability and ignition due to its lignocellulosic structure. This situation is a threat to the security of life and property, especially in public areas. It is important to make furniture and similar many wood based materials more resistant to combustion in terms of human health and safety. In particular, Fireproofing wood-based panel products, which are more resistant to combustion, are particularly preferred at various applications. In this study; The combustion properties of medium density fiberboard (MDF) produced by ammonium polyphosphate (APP) known as EcoChem (FR), which is known under the trade name Fire Retardand Chemistry, were investigated some technological properties. Control and fire resistant boards; physical properties of the relative humidity, density, water intake and thickness swelling, mechanical properties of the bending strength, elastisty module, screw-holding resistance and surface strength tests were investigated. In addition, both the control samples and the fire resistant MDFs were compared to the direct flame in the laboratory. It was also examined by thermogravimetric analysis method. As a result, it was observed that 30% of the fiberboards produced with FR chemical showed more resistance to combustion.
