Abstract (EN)

In recent years, important studies have been carried out on both technical and musical problems related to instrument training in general, diligent and professional music education institutions in our country. When these problems are evaluated, it is concluded that the distraction caused by acoustic problems in the study rooms, focusing problems and their negative effects on instrument performance should be investigated in depth. The purpose of this research is to determine to what extent the acoustic conditions of instrument study rooms in music education departments affect students' attention and meditation values during their instrument performances and find solutions to possible problems. In this context, attention and meditation values of various instruments were interpreted according to the acoustic differences (isolated and uninsulated rooms) by considering the performances of the participants in individual instrument rooms. In this context, it is thought that the research is important in terms of drawing attention to how the attention and meditation processes of different instruments are affected according to the acoustic situations in individual study rooms, giving an idea about the acoustic equipment of the study rooms in the existing and new music institutions, and also being an example for similar studies and creating a source. In the research, one of the experimental research methods, a post-test design without control group was used. In line with the research, the effects of the room variable (isolated and not insulated) on the participants were examined. Eight participants with different instruments performed in different acoustic environments. During the performance, a Neurosky Mindwave Mobile 2 EEG device was attached to the head regions and the instant attention and meditation values of the participants were measured in three different sessions. After the application, the averages of the data taken from each participant in separate rooms were taken and compared with each other. In line with the findings, attention data of all participants were higher in the acoustically isolated and arranged room, and individual differences were observed in the meditation data. It was concluded that people who performed an instrument performance in an acoustically isolated room had better attention.
