Abstract (EN)
The primary purpose of this research is investigation of the relationship between weight bias internalization and negative body talk of individuals with different body mass indices. The secondary purpose is to examine the psychometric properties of two factor weight bias internalization scale, to gain field writing in Turkish, to test its applicability. Test retest and internal consistency analysis was performed as part of the diagnostic and validation factor analysis as well as reliability analysis to determine weight bias internalization scale validity and reliability values. In addition, weight bias internalization scale and negative body talk scale can be analyzed by one-way analysis of variance to analyze that it does not differentiate from the age and body mass index variable, multiple linear regressions were performed to determine the correlation of the lower dimensions of both scales with the body mass index, and finally to determine their precursor on both scales. Each analysis is detailed in four separate studies. In the first study, a two-factor structure was obtained that describes 55.19% of the variance according to the exploratory factor analysis results to determine the factor load of substances that include weight bias internalization. The internal coefficient of consistency to test the reliability of the scale is calculated as .80. In the second study, the construct validity of the scale was tested by confirmatory factor analysis. As a result of the second study, the results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the scale of a total of 13 two-factor factors is acceptable. In the third study, weight bias internalization has been tested and test-retest method use to determine whether it has changed temporal and scale has not changed with ,929. In the fourth final study, two factor weight bias internalization and negative body talk analysis of the one-way variance to analyze the difference between age and body mass index, multiple linear regression analysis has been performed to look at the relation of the subsubscale of both scales with the body mass index, and finally to determine their precursor on both scales. According to the analysis results, when the age variable was examined with the subscale of both scales, it was determined that there was no statistical difference between weight-related distress, weight-related self-devaluation and body comparison subscales. As a result, two factor weight bias internalization Turkish exercise or sports participants may say that the sample is a scale that can be used to determine weight bias internalization, and the body mass index is weight bias internalization and negative body talk.
