Abstract (EN)
Fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, which are referred to as non-renewable energy sources, have become an indispensable part of our daily lives and are facing extinction due to increasing population and technological developments worldwide. For this reason, renewable energy production and the use of the energy obtained in various fields have gained momentum in the last hundred years. Biomass, one of the renewable energy sources, can take its source from all kinds of animal, plant and microbial wastes. In this way, both the damage caused by waste to the environment is reduced and cleaner energy can be obtained. Besides agricultural wastes such as okra stalks and tobacco stalks were evaluated in our study, it was aimed to create new energy alternatives that can be produced for a cleaner environment by protecting natural resources with limited reserves. One of the most preferred thermochemical conversion processes in biomass energy production is pyrolysis of biomass. In this study, the pyrolysis kinetics of okra stalks, tobacco stalks, Şırnak charcoal, 1:1 mixtures of okra stalks and Şırnak charcoal and tobacco stalks and Şırnak charcoal were investigated and parameters were determined. Thermal decomposition analyses for each biomass were calculated at heating rates of 5oC/min, 10oC/min, 15oC/min and 20oC/min. TG and DTG graphs of the thermogravimetric analysis results were plotted. The kinetic study was carried out using both the Coats-Redfern method, which is a model-containing method, and the Flynn-Wall-Ozawa and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose methods, which are model-free methods. The activation energies were calculated for the studied biomasses by constructing graphs and linear equations.
