Abstract (EN)

In this study, development times, longevity, mortality and oviposition preferences of Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechidae) (Meyrick) on 10 different tomato varieties (Dumas, Hünkar, İskender, Nehir, Polo, Sakarya, Şoray, Vitello, Yar f1 and 5656) grown in greenhouses and open fields were evaluated. In the study, the longest immature development time was determined on Polo 28.4 days, while the shortest was determined on Vitello (23.3 day). The lowest and highest mortality of immature stages were determined on the 'Nehir' (8%) and 'Dumas' (32%) varieties, respectively. The highest total mortality was found in the 4th larval stage. Although there were no significant differences more eggs laid on Şoray in non-choice oviposition experiments. In choice oviposition experiment, the highest number of eggs determined on Sakarya (20.8) while the lowest was in 5656 (7.5).
