Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to determine the effects of different doses of Mg on the characteristics of two cotton varieties namely Çukurova 1518 and Lachata which belong to Gossypium hirsutwn L. The trials were designed in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications From the experiment it was found that the amount of Mg in the leaves, faight of plant, number of bolls/per plant, 100 seed weight, percentage of carpel, number of sympodia of plant and seed-cotton weight were affected by the different Mg doses; and there were significant differences between the varieties for the characteristics of the amount of Mg in the leaves, height of plants, number of bolls/per plant, percentage of carpel, number of sympodia, fiber strength, fineness, length uniformity and seed-cotton weight; and the interaction of variety x Mg was significant only for the amount of the Mg in the leaves.
