Abstract (EN)

Chemical fibers are mostly produced in circular cross sectional shapes. Besides, the production of fibers having different cross sections is existing. The change in the cross sectional shapes of the fibers can cause some differences on the properties of the fibers. For this reason, it becomes important to know how the fiber properties change related to cross sectional shapes. As a result, in this research, the influence of the change in the cross section to the some of the structural and in-use properties of chemical fibers is evaluated.Within the context of this thesis, different cross sectional shaped polypropylene, polyester and composite polypropylene fibers have been produced using laboratory type spinning machines.
