Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted on the experimental fields of Field Crops Department, Agriculture Faculty of Ege University, in the duration of a vegetation period between 2014-2015. Festuca arundinacea is a cool season turf plant that can adapt very well to warm climates, but browning is seen in the leaves during the winter season. In this research, it is aimed to eliminate the above browning problem and improve the turf performance during the winter period of the different fertilizer applications applied in autumn season. The traits like winter resistance, rate of cover, leaf texture, leaf color, regenerative capacity, tillering, visual turf quality and rate of weeds were recorded and evaluated. Autumn fertilization applications with nitrogenous in the turf areas of the Mediterranean climate zone were found to be effective during the winter period, especially in the color of grass.
