Abstract (EN)

In this study, EN AW-5083-H111 and EN AW-6082-T651 aluminum alloy materials were joined with Friction Stir Welding (FSW) method. Different parameters were obtained by using the tool shoulder diameter, tool rotation, and tool feed rate factors in welded connections. Mechanical properties (yield strength, tensile strength, weld ductility, microhardness), metallographic properties (optical microscope and SEM) and corrosion behavior of welded joints were examined by comparing. The yield strength of welded joints was found between 136-217 MPa, tensile strength 159-230 MPa, and elongation between 2.28-5.44 %. In the optical microscope examination, no welding defects were observed in the connections. Corrosion test results showed that weight loss was higher in porous weld internal structure and over deformed surface structures. The overall hardness values of welded regions were higher than those of EN AW-6082 base metal, while low values were observed in EN AW-5083 base metal region.
