Abstract (EN)
Microfluid technologies have shown great potential formicroscale biochemical systems for analysis and synthesis. Microfluid devices are provided for biological assays to perform analysis with efficient throughput and use of samples or reagents in small fluid amounts (µL, nL, pL) and analysis of single cells, cell-based assays and long-term cell culture. In this thesis, the aim was to analyze the characteristics of the material and to provide sterilization conditions after applied standart sterilization techniques (UV, heat, ethylene oxide and hydrogen peroxide) and supercritical carbondioxide (ScCO2) to microchips by fabricated from polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). Material Characterization of microchips after sterilization treatments was achieved with Scanning Electron Microscpe (SEM) analysis, Fourier Tranform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and surface roughness analysis. The optimum sterilization parameters for ScCO2 of PMMA and PDMS microchips were elicited as 120 bar, 40oC, 60 min and 80 bar, 40oC, 30 min, respectively. In the results of this study, sterilization techniques was not altered negatively the main properties of the polymers. However, surface roughness and microchannel profiles were negatively affected.
