Abstract (EN)

In this eight-week diet study, growth, consumption rate, and feed conversion rate were investigated in Goldfish {Carassius auratus Linnaeus, 1758) fed with three different diets each prepared with different protein sources. This study was conducted at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Fisheries Faculty aquarium unit where 81 Goldfish were placed into 9 aquariums with equal number of fish. Also, in each aquarium the mean weight of Goldfish were similar (ranging from 4,78 to 4,85 g). At the end of the study three fish (total of 27) from each aquarium were sacrificed for flesh composition anaylses. Chemical composition (dry matter, protein, lipid and ash) were determined for fish from each experimental unit and for the three diet types. Keywords: Aquarium, goldfish, Carassius auratus, food consumption, growth performance, protein content
