Abstract (EN)

In the present study, growth parameters of sriped seabream (Lithognathus mormyrus L., 1758), having an economic value, have been investigated in Kilya Koy, Çanakkale. The study was conducted in sea cages and fish were fed with diets containing different levels of protein and lipid. At the end of the trial carried out for a period of 8 weeks, best growth was obtained in the group fed diet 50/15. Growth performance of fish improved as dietary lipid levels decreased and protein increased. Accordingly, a lower growth rate was recorded in fish fed diets containing low protein and high lipid. Sriped seabream is a new candidate for the aquaculture industry, hence further studies dealing with different diet formulations are encouraged towards a better growth performance.
